At the beginning of the 20th century, fishermen had a new mirage: California. In few years many fishermen left the town with them family settling in a new place called "Black diamond" now "Pittsburg" a little town near San Francisco. In the 1994 Isola delle Femmine and Pittsburg began to be sister reinforcing the relationship. For this reason each town realized two statues representing a fisherman. In Isola delle Femmine the statue was situated in a place near the sea called "Pittsburg Plaza".
